Jodi & Kurt met in high school & have since built a life together pursuing their creative endeavors in gardening, food, & photography. These interests are so intertwined that often the lines blur between them.

In 2017, the couple purchased an historic home built in 1851 that sits on 1.3 acres of land, commonly referred to as Farmhouse1851. When they purchased their Virginia farmhouse, the property was in much need of repair & the land was completely overgrown. Each year, Jodi & Kurt continue to make improvements to their home, expand & create new garden beds, & restore the beauty & life of the property. Through the cultivation of the land comes their inspiration & moments of creativity.

Jodi & Kurt daily maintain several large flower gardens devoted to perennials & annuals, as well as an extensive culinary garden that stays in production all year. 

Their time is usually spent between the garden & the kitchen, growing & creating nourishing food, & sharing their bounty with the community around them.
